Covidien, Mansfield, Mass, has donated more than $100,000 in supplies, such as diapers, gauze, and bandages, to AmeriCares to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

AmeriCares delivered supplies to the most affected parts of New York and New Jersey, where families were staying in shelters or living without power for weeks after the storm. Since Sandy’s landfall, AmeriCares has delivered 84 aid shipments for affected families, bringing medical aid, bottled water, blankets, first aid kits, flashlights, and cleaning supplies to the hardest hit communities. The organization also has a 40-foot mobile clinic assisting health care facilities in New York City unable to treat patients because of storm damage and power outages. Covidien has supported AmeriCares for more than 25 years.
