The company is expanding its UK operations and integrating inventory management and point-of-care scanning capabilities into its SonitorONE platform.

Sonitor, a healthcare technology company based in the US and Norway specializing in location intelligence, is expanding its UK footprint after being named one of 13 suppliers awarded a place on the NHS Supply Chain Scan4Safety framework for inventory management systems and point-of-care scanning systems.

The company says it is the only vendor on the framework that offers a platform built exclusively for healthcare spanning inventory management, point-of-care scanning, asset management, and precision-based real-time location system technology. Sonitor is offering its inventory management and patient safety solution as an integrated part of its SonitorONE end-to-end location intelligence platform, which the company says enables use cases beyond those covered by the framework.

The NHS framework gives trusts and other organizations a route to evaluate and procure technologies that support inventory management and point-of-care scanning. NHS Supply Chain has identified the capabilities enabled by the framework as important to improving patient safety, supply chain resilience, clinical productivity, and cost efficiency.

โ€œThe UK continues as an important part of Sonitorโ€™s global strategy and a focus where our technology and healthcare expertise are well aligned with the needs of safety-focused, AI-enabled, and data-driven organisations,โ€ says Matt Crane, group CEO of Sonitor, in a release. โ€œWe are bringing our inventory management system built specifically for Scan4Safety together with our SonitorONE end-to-end location intelligence platform. We deliver industry-leading precision, accuracy, and real-time data that healthcare organizations can trust and act on.โ€

New UK Leadership

To support its UK growth, Sonitor has hired Ben Ballester as UK country manager. Ballester joins the executive team with experience across NHS supply chain, inventory management, point-of-care, GS1 standards, Scan4Safety, real-time location systems, and RFID technology.

Originally founded in Norway, Sonitor built its reputation on patented real-time location technology. Norway remains the center for the companyโ€™s research, development, and operations as it continues to grow across the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and North America.

SonitorONE supports a portfolio of applications including asset intelligence, staff duress, patient safety, nurse-call enablement, patient workflows, inventory management, point-of-care scanning, and specimen tracking. The company positions precise, accurate, real-time location data as the foundation for healthcare organizations increasingly relying on AI and analytics to track assets, inventory, staff, patients, and workflows.

HCSA 2026 Appearance

As part of its UK investment, Sonitor will exhibit at the HCSA 2026 Annual Conference and Exhibition, where it plans to connect with NHS procurement, supply chain, clinical, and operational leaders. At the event, the company will showcase its NHS-focused inventory management and point-of-care capabilities within the broader SonitorONE platform.

โ€œHCSA gives us an important opportunity to engage directly with NHS leaders and partners and demonstrate what differentiates Sonitor,โ€ says Ballester in a release. โ€œIt starts with accurate, reliable data and extends to how that data can be used to improve visibility, workflows, efficiency, and patient safety.โ€
