The integration of a location tracking platform with nurse call systems aims to automate clinical tasks and provide operational insights.
Sonitor announced that its SonitorONE real-time location system (RTLS) platform has joined the Rauland Vendor Integration Partner (VIP) Program. The integration is intended to help healthcare organizations strengthen staff safety, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency through connected clinical technologies.
By connecting SonitorONE with Rauland Responder, healthcare teams gain access to real-time location intelligence. This integration combines nurse call workflows with location awareness, allowing caregivers to spend less time managing systems and more time on patient care, according to a press release from Sonitor.
The integration of the RTLS technology provides several workflow and safety features, including automated nurse call handling. This system uses real-time staff presence detection to clear active calls automatically when a caregiver enters a patient room. Additionally, the platform is designed to enhance staff safety by connecting duress alerts from badges directly to the nurse call system, allowing for rapid responses with precise location details.
The platform uses location-driven analytics such as rounding activity and time-in-room data to support staffing and operational decisions and also utilizes secure application programming interfaces and HL7 integrations to support scalability across different healthcare environments.
Rauland’s VIP Program is designed to enable interoperability by connecting devices, software, and platforms into unified workflows. This helps health systems reduce complexity and improve coordination between technologies, the company says in a release.
