The acquisition brings UltraLinQ’s cloud PACS and cardiac monitoring solutions under Core Sound Imaging’s Studycast platform as part of a strategic growth initiative.

Core Sound Imaging, the company behind the Studycast medical imaging workflow platform, has announced the acquisition of UltraLinQ Healthcare Solutions, a provider of cloud-based PACS and cardiac monitoring solutions. According to the company, the platform expansion is part of a strategic initiative to consolidate imaging solutions under a single platform.

The acquisition combines two established platforms in the cloud-based medical imaging sector. Studycast, known for its scalable imaging workflow, will now support a broader base of healthcare providers, from small practices to large hospital networks.

โ€œWeโ€™ve long admired UltraLinQโ€™s commitment to the same tenets as Core Sound Imaging: delivering some of the most advanced, dependable, and user-friendly imaging experience in the industry,โ€ says Lindsey Klein, CEO of Core Sound Imaging, in a release. โ€œThis acquisition allows us to further solidify that promise to our customers and the market.โ€

Platform Integration and New Features

Following the acquisition, UltraLinQ customers will gain access to Studycastโ€™s advanced features, including seamless integration across EMRs and modalities, access to AI-enhanced diagnostic tools, and workflow automation tools designed to improve turnaround times.

โ€œUltraLinQ prioritizes simplicity, reliability, and customer support,โ€ says Theo Vouniseas, UltraLinQ chief operations officer, in a release. โ€œJoining forces with Studycast allows us to elevate that mission by offering our customers a more powerful platform without compromising on the values they trust.โ€

The move follows an $80 million growth investment Core Sound Imaging received in 2024 from PSG, a growth equity firm focused on software and technology-enabled services organizations. The companyโ€™s Studycast system is currently used in 49 US states and seven countries, while UltraLinQ serves more than 70,000 users across over 8,000 locations.
