Irving, Texas-based VHA Inc, a national network of nonprofit health care organizations that serves 1,400 member hospitals, selected RadarFind to provide its real-time distributed sensor network to its extensive hospital network in order to track equipment, patients, and staff.

RadarFind’s real-time location system (RTLS) has previously assisted hospitals in reducing capital expenditures and staff time spent on routine processes. The RTLS helped a North Carolina hospital reduce its planned infusion pump purchase by 53 pumps, saving more than $300,000, and also reduced the facility’s average time spent searching for misplaced wheelchairs from more than 20 minutes to less than five.

“As hospitals are required to do more with fewer resources, VHA is helping members meet these challenges through the use of innovative technology,” said David Gillan, VP of purchased services and strategic sourcing at VHA. “The RadarFind system has proven to be a cost-effective technology that reinforces our mission of helping hospitals improve efficiency and performance while enabling them to focus on patient care.”
