The Joint Commission has launched the WikiHealthCare application to connect health care professionals around the globe.

Front-line providers, health care administrators, researchers, and others will be able to collaborate with each other to develop performance improvement solutions through this free, Internet-based collaborative forum.

Registered users on WikiHealthCare can discuss solutions, edit existing solutions, and create new solutions that will then be available to the entire health care community. The site and its content focus areas are expected to grow over time.

Although The Joint Commission sponsors WikiHealthCare, the content developed on the site is non-proprietary, open source information. In addition, participation within this collaborative forum has no impact upon an organization’s accreditation status as all users participate as individuals, not as representatives of their organization.
