Royal Philips Electronics announces a collaboration with Orion Health to deploy its Rhapsody integration engine across its portfolio of informatics solutions.

Orion Health’s Rhapsody integration engine manages and streamlines message exchange between hospital applications, databases, and external systems. By partnering with Orion Health and automating the delivery of clinical data in a standardized, secure, and efficient manner, Philips will advance its commitment to help customers achieve health care interoperability goals.

Currently, integrating systems across a health care enterprise is a daunting task. Standardizing with the Rhapsody platform will allow Philips to deploy technology faster and pass cost savings and benefits on to the customer, according to a release announcing the partnership.

“Making data from Philips’ solutions more accessible to physicians can improve patient outcomes by presenting a more complete clinical record,” said Paul Viskovich, president of Orion Health North America. “The electronic exchange of patient data is a critical component of advancing health reform.”
