In April, Smith & Nephew’s Endoscopy division announced the launch of its Hip Positioning System.
Designed to enable surgeons to access and treat the hip joint using arthroscopic techniques, Smith & Nephew’s new product replaces the need for the fracture tables often used during open surgery to repair broken hips or replace worn out joints.
The Hip Positioning System attaches to most standard operating room tables and will gently separate the hip joint. The system’s unique ball joint makes it possible to move the patient’s hip as needed.
