The Master of Health Administration program prepares students to become the next generation of executive health care leaders by combining real-world experience and competency-based coursework in an innovative learning environment.

CURRICULUM

The Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati Online features interdisciplinary coursework provided by both the College of Allied Health Sciences and the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. The online MHA curriculum consists of 40 semester credits, including two introduction courses, nine core courses and a two-part capstone course. Students take courses part-time, between six and nine credit hours per semester This program primarily utilizes an online-learning asynchronous approach. Our best practice approach to learning draws upon experience and perspectives in leadership, finance, quality improvement, epidemiology, health economics and health policy to provide a broad-based educational experience leading to outcomes which will benefit the students’ organizations and communities.

Flexible Full and Part Time Courses

The program is designed for working professionals that need flexibility. Some courses are taught in 7 weeks while more intensive courses are taught in 15 weeks. The UC MHA program offers a fast-track plan that allows students to complete their degree within 5 semesters. There is also an extended track plan that allows completion within 8 semesters.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the online Master of Health Administration program, applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Resume/CV of personal, professional and educational background.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to highlight experience in health care.
  • Hold a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Two letters of recommendation that address the applicants academic readiness for graduate-level work, work ethic and habits, and the applicant’s communication and interpersonal skills
