The Healthcare Technology Foundation (HTF) is conducting its third national survey on clinical alarms. The 2016 HTF National Clinical Alarms Survey will be open for responses through April 15.
HTF previously conducted alarm-related surveys in 2006 and 2011. The first survey led to the publication of Impact of Alarms on Patient Safety. The 2011 survey received more than 4,000 responses, of whom 93% were clinical staff. The results of the 2011 survey are available on the HTF website.
The 2016 survey consists of 37 multiple choice and free-text questions involving work-related demographics and alarm information and takes about 15 minutes to complete. All information submitted will remain anonymous.
