The SMART500RT1U Line Interactive UPS from Tripp Lite, Chicago, is a power solution for areas where space is limited. The UPS can serve as a monitor base, offering instant space saving. The products has seven outlets (six UPS supported, one surge), including one outlet that is individually controllable to reboot select equipment on demand or maximize battery runtime for mission-critical equipment.
UPS battery backup keeps equipment operational through short power failures and provides time to save data and perform orderly system shutdowns if faced with a prolonged blackout. It features a large internal battery that provides about 3 minutes of battery support for a full load (300 watts) and 14.6 minutes for a half-load (150 watts). During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the UPS battery fully charged so that backup power will always be available if needed.
