Toshiba Medical Systems Corp, Tustin, Calif, a producer of diagnostic and medical imaging equipment, has reached a milestone of producing 20,000 computed tomography (CT) units.

The “KLAS Top 20: 2007 Midyear Report” ranked the company’s Aquilion 64-slice CT system Number 1 in its category, and gave it the highest score in three of four categories. The Aquilion 16-slice CT system was ranked second overall in CT.

The company strives to produce the thinnest possible slices and the clearest possible images. Quantum Advantage detector technology offers 0.5 mm slices for all of its CT systems, so if physicians are doing a routine chest CT on the 16-slice or a cardiac study on the 64-slice, consistent images will be produced.
