Dec11CarZeisstab4labCarl Zeiss Microscopy, a company of the Carl Zeiss Group and a provider of light, laser scanning, and electron and ion beam microscopes, introduces the Tab4Lab, a tablet comprising a touch pad and the required software.

In combination with the AxioCamERc 5s camera, the two components form an image recording system. The tablet uses software based on the established ZEN imaging software and it has been specially adapted to tablet PCs and can be operated via touchscreen. This minimizes both the learning curve and the time required for routine applications. The workflows are modeled on those used in clinical labs and in quality assurance in the industry.

Featuring a user interface available in various languages, the Carl Zeiss Tab4Lab is not dependent on a specific site of use, making it suitable for labs where space is at a premium. Easy transfer of the image data via the SD card or other data carriers also makes the image recording system ideal for use in training. Small groups can discuss microscope photos live and use them for presentations. Users can provide the microscope photos with a scaling bar and annotate them with markings and texts. Regions of interest can be highlighted and documented for more detailed analysis.
