Recognizing leaders in Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) announced the 2009 Davies Award of Excellence recipients in ambulatory, organizational, community health, and public health care during a press conference on September 22 at the House Triangle on Capitol Hill during a press conference on September 22 at the House Triangle on Capitol Hill.

Since 1994, the awards have honored more than 60 healthcare organizations that have implemented health IT, specifically EHRs, in their respective locations.

This year’s recipients include not-for-profit organization MultiCare Health System, Tacoma, Wash; Virginia Women’s Center, Richmond, Va; and Urban Health Plan in Bronx, NY.
