Embee Technologies has been awarded a $1 million contract for installing and integrating a wireless network at three of St Joseph Health System’s California hospitals.
The company, which specializes in information technology infrastructure, will set up hospitals in Orange, Santa Rosa, and Napa to run medical and communications equipment wirelessly and allow for individual health records to be exchanged securely and privately through electronic means, as established by federal regulation under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
The company will configure nearly 600 wireless access points throughout the hospitals using hardware from Cisco Systems.
St Joseph Health System has 14 hospitals throughout California, New Mexico, and Texas.
