Focused on the use of radio frequency identification technology within the healthcare sector, the 2013 RFID in Healthcare conference is scheduled for December 4, 2013, at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center in Washington, DC.

According to conference organizer RFID Journal, this year’s event will feature leading hospital executives explaining how they employ RFID to improve asset-utilization rates and patient outcomes, as well as reduce expenses. Presentations will cover the results of real-world deployments of RFID and the benefits achieved. Specific topics include tracking asset locations via passive EPC tags, increasing patient safety and nurse work efficiency via RFID, improving management of emergency medicine kits, and calculating the return on investment from a real-time location system.
