Longmont, Colo.-based Acertara Acoustic Laboratories, an independent diagnostic ultrasound testing laboratory and ultrasound probe repair provider, has inked a deal with CS Medical, a Creedmoor, N.C.-based developer and manufacturer of automated cleaning and high-level disinfection devices for TEE probes, to provide a comprehensive probe care compliance solution for hospitals and imaging centers.

“CS Medical and Acertara share many commonalities with one another in serving the needs of the ultrasound market,” says Acertara CEO G. Wayne Moore. “We are both pioneers in introducing solutions that improve patient safety and lower costs based on evidence, both are certified by ultrasound OEMs as a result of rigorous testing, and both are leaders in our respective markets. By partnering, hospitals benefit from a full lifecycle probe care solution that includes testing, transport, disinfection, storage, and TEE repair.”

Building off the TD 100 platform, CS Medical recently introduced the TD 200, providing customers with a high-level disinfection time and overall quicker cycle time of 10 minutes. TD 200 is the first medical device cleared in North America that provides high-level disinfection in three minutes.

Mark Leath, president of CS Medical, also spoke out about the collaboration, commenting: “Partnering with Acertara is another example of CS Medical’s pledge to help healthcare professionals reduce [hospital-acquired infections] and increase awareness for a better, safer healthcare system.”
