The conversational AI capability within TRIMEDX-AIQ helps biomedical technicians find troubleshooting data to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.
TRIMEDX announced the launch of a technician agent, a conversational AI capability within its TRIMEDX-AIQ platform designed to support biomedical technicians. The tool aims to accelerate access to information needed for medical equipment maintenance, helping health systems maximize equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
The technician agent is embedded within the company’s workflows, allowing technicians to ask natural-language questions inside a proprietary computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). According to a TRIMEDX press release, the tool is intended to reduce the administrative burden of searching through records, documents, and data repositories for repair information.
The platform is powered by a repository of medical device data that includes more than 25 years of historical insight, service history for 6 million devices, and 3 million work orders annually. The agent analyzes this data to provide real-time answers regarding location data, troubleshooting guidance, error code definitions, past repair resolutions, and cyber mitigation details.
“TRIMEDX-AIQ enables our technicians to focus on more meaningful, value-added work that improves reliability and client outcomes by removing friction from everyday service tasks,” says TRIMEDX CEO Neil de Crescenzo, in a release. “With these new agentic AI capabilities, technicians can get the right information quickly—without switching tools or hunting through documentation—which helps accelerate repairs, maximize equipment availability, and improve capital planning decisions.”
The company says the agent supports technicians in the flow of work by surfacing relevant data quickly, which can also assist health systems in making capital planning decisions. According to the press release, the tool utilizes a network of more than 3,500 technicians to inform its data insights.
