Panasonic has upgraded its Panasonic Toughbook H2, its rugged handheld tablet PC. The new H2 includes a faster processor, the Intel Core i5-3427U (up to 2.8GHz) with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. Internal storage has been upped to a 500GB, 7200rpm hard drive (shock-mounted flex-connect with hard drive heater) with optional 128GB SSD. Twin, hot-swappable batteries deliver up to seven hours of power. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 come standard on all models, and users have the option to integrate 4G LTE or 3G Gobi capability. The H2 maintains its “tough” reputation, being able to withstand a 6-foot drop.
