Yale New Haven Health, Keck Medicine of USC, and Hartford HealthCare bring the Aegis Digital Consortium’s membership to 14 systems focused on co-developing and deploying new technologies.

Aegis Ventures has announced that three health systems—Yale New Haven Health System, Keck Medicine of USC, and Hartford HealthCare—have joined the Aegis Digital Consortium, which now includes 14 health systems across the US, to develop and deploy AI-powered healthtech solutions.

The member systems will work together with Aegis to co-develop, invest in, and implement new technologies designed to address operational and clinical challenges. The consortium now represents nearly 8% of US healthcare, with a combined total of half a million employees and over $100 billion in operating revenue, according to a release from Aegis Ventures.

“These three renowned health systems reflect a demonstrated commitment to transformation and innovation leadership at the local, regional, national, and international level,” says John Noseworthy, chairman of the Aegis Digital Consortium and emeritus CEO of Mayo Clinic, in a release. “We are thrilled to have their thought leadership and partnership to strengthen our national consortium of 14 members as we collaborate to create and scale the next wave of healthtech companies to tackle some of healthcare’s toughest challenges.”

Other members of the consortium include Endeavor Health, Indiana University Health, Memorial Hermann Health System, Northwell Health, Novant Health, and Stanford Health Care, among others. The model is intended to provide a direct path for new technologies from development to deployment within this large network of providers.

“One of our top priorities at Keck Medicine of USC is to accelerate health sciences innovation by combining AI-driven technologies with transformative, compassionate patient care,” says Aman Mahajan, MD, PhD, who leads Health Sciences Innovation and Transformation for USC Health, in a release. “We’ve been impressed by the progress made by the Aegis Digital Consortium since its launch, and we’re delighted to join this community of practice to co-develop new solutions alongside Aegis and other leading health systems.”
