Every year since 1999, Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, has recognized the nation’s Most Wired hospitals and health systems. The award doesn’t just recognize large hospitals, it also names facilities to the Most Improved and/or Most Wired—Small and Rural list.

The survey gathers information and assesses participating hospitals and health systems based on progress in adoption, implementation, and use of information technology in four areas:
* Infrastructure
* Business and Administrative Management
* Clinical Quality and Safety (Inpatient/Outpatient Hospital)
* Clinical Integration (Ambulatory/Physician/Community)

Hospitals that have unique IT projects can also compete for the Innovator Award. It sends user ID codes and passwords to all hospital CEOs and CIOs to participate in the survey and takes submissions until March 15, 2013.

I will be interesting to see the results!
