Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, a Level I pediatric trauma center and Level III neonatal intensive care unit treating over 93,000 children annually, has completed a system-wide conversion to Masimo SET pulse oximetry, from Masimo, Irvine, Calif.
The hospital is consistently ranked one of the best pediatric facilities in the country by US News & World Report.
According to clinicians at the hospital, standardizing to Masimo SET will allow staff to more accurately assess oxygenation in children to detect life-threatening conditions earlier and better treat patient motion and low peripheral perfusion conditions common to infants and children.
The hospital will also have access to Masimo’s Rainbow SET technology, an upgradable noninvasive blood constituent monitoring platform capable of measuring additional blood constituents that previously required invasive procedures.
