Siemens Medical Solutions showcased how its customers are improving Health Information Management (HIM) operations and turning their electronic health record (EHR) visions into a reality at the 2006 annual convention for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), held in Denver, Colo, October 7-11.
The Siemens booth featured five Siemens customer presentations highlighting best practices and lessons learned; demonstrations of Soarian® HIM–Siemens next generation HIM solution, designed to allow for a free flow of patient documentation throughout the enterprise with simultaneous access from any location; and Siemens new Forms Management partner, Access e-Forms.
Additionally, Siemens has been designated as Leadership Circle Sponsor for AHIMA. A corporate sponsor of AHIMA for many years, Siemens has achieved the highest-level status this year based on its contributions to AHIMA. Siemens has been an active participant in AHIMA’s newly developed electronic health information (e-HIM®) Virtual Laboratory, which was funded by the organization’s Foundation of Research and Education (FORE). Siemens worked closely with AHIMA and FORE to develop the e-HIM Virtual Lab, which provides college students with hands-on experience with leading-edge HIM technologies.
