Michael Long, senior VP global services, Siemens Medical Solutions, health services division, has been recognized as an honoree of Computerworld’s 2008 Premier 100 IT Leaders Program.

The Premier 100 honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving business problems and demonstrate the ability to promote creativity and challenging work environments, envision fresh approaches to business challenges, and effectively manage IT investments. This year’s honorees were selected from nearly 800 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld’s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations, and evaluated by the editors and by a panel of outside judges.

With more than 20 years of health care IT expertise, Long and his team provide a wide range of services across the entire health care value chain, which includes consulting and education services that enable customers to optimize IT investments, managed services so customers can focus on their core business. He is also responsible for the management of the Siemens information systems center.
