BMETs can no longer use a lack of testing sites as an excuse for putting off pursuing International Certification Commission (ICC) certification as the ICC is now offering testing sites throughout the United States. Certification is available in the following areas: certified biomedical equipment technician (CBET) certified radiology equipment specialist (CRES) certified laboratory equipment specialist (CLES).
Certification testing is being offered in 29 cities nationwide, and others may be scheduled as needed. The ICC has already certified more than 6,000 professionals.
