The new technology provides immediate data on radiation exposure during high-risk medical procedures.

Radiation Detection Company has introduced Radiant, a real-time dosimetry solution that provides clinicians with immediate visibility into radiation levels during medical procedures, according to a company press release.

The system is designed for high-exposure clinical environments, such as cardiac catheterization laboratories, interventional radiology, vascular surgery, and electrophysiology. Unlike traditional monitoring approaches that focus on historical exposure information, this real-time monitoring allows clinical teams to understand their radiation environment while procedures are in progress, according to a release from the company.

โ€œRadiation safety is most effective when clinicians have the information they need while they are caring for patients,โ€ says Jacob Hartsfield, general manager for Radiant at Radiation Detection Company, in a release. The tool provides dose information that updates every 0.2 seconds.

According to the company, this immediate visibility supports decisions regarding clinical positioning, shielding, and workflow. The new solution joins a portfolio of radiation monitoring tools, including passive dosimeter services, digital dosimetry, and analytics reporting.

Radiation Detection Company has operated since 1949 and currently processes more than 2.5 million radiation badges annually for 41,000 organizations. The company supports professionals across healthcare, dental, veterinary, research, and industrial sectors.
