The system identifies unauthorized changes within connected hardware to protect healthcare infrastructure and patient safety.
Crytica Security has launched Rapid Detection, Alert, and isolation (RDAi), a patented software solution designed to detect cyber threats from within operational technology devices used in healthcare, national security, and critical infrastructure. The system operates non-disruptively inside each protected device to provide evidence of unauthorized changes to the hardware’s instruction sets.
The release comes as cyber threats increasingly target the embedded systems and connected devices that support essential services. IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach Report 2026 found that attacks driven by artificial intelligence increased 56% year over year, while 50% of organizations with security operations centers have already deployed artificial intelligence agents in production.
“Cybersecurity has become extraordinarily good at observing what is happening around and external to a device, but ultimately, for detection to be truly effective, it must take place inside of each device itself,” says Dr C Kerry Nemovicher, CEO and co-founder of Crytica Security, in a release.
Nemovicher explains that the company installs a probe smaller than 100 kilobytes to reside within the device and perform instruction set integrity monitoring. This function alerts operators if an attacker changes a device’s instructions or other static data, such as configuration files.
The technology is intended to augment existing security workflows, including security information and event management, and extended detection and response, without requiring organizations to replace current investments. By providing evidence from within the device, the software addresses what external network visibility alone cannot determine: whether a device remains in a trusted operating state.
“What we’re seeing now is an ecosystem forming around deterministic detection, and Crytica is at the vanguard of that effort,” says C Lloyd Mahaffey, executive chairman and co-founder of Crytica Security, in a release. Mahaffey adds that customers and technology partners are seeking tools that can detect malware and performance anomalies faster.
The company plans to announce additional technology integrations and industry collaborations soon to extend device-level detection into existing cybersecurity architectures.
