The TriMedx Foundation, as part of the Mission Lifecycle Program, will send volunteers—primarily biomedical teachnicians—to two hospitals in Haiti each month throughout 2011. The volunteers will serve at Hôpital Sacré Coeur in Milot and St. Boniface Hospital in Fond des Blancs, and will train local technicians to use and repair equipment in departments such as lab, anesthesia, EKG, blood pressure, and imaging.
The Mission Lifecycle Program is for hospitals that serve as the sole source of medical treatment for hundreds of miles, yet lack the resources to obtain, operate, or maintain medical equipment. The TriMedx Foundation will participate in a four-year process wherein hospitals receive training and equipment with the goal of achieving biomedical self-sustainability.
TriMedx Foundation is currently seeking volunteers with biomedical equipment and training experience to apply to serve in Haiti this year. For more information on the volunteer application process, contact [email protected].
