Boasting an extra-slim design and promising easy-to-use features, the latest offering from Sony Electronics’ Medical Systems is a 27-inch, high-resolution surgical monitor available in either a digital/analog (LMD-2765MD) and digital-only (LMD-2760MD) version.
Ideal for use in a range of environments—including operating rooms, medical centers, clinics, and doctor’s offices—the monitor fits in the same chassis footprint as most 26-inch models, so facilities can use existing current carts or boom arms. The designs also allows for use in either a cart system or ceiling-mounted configuration.
The new monitor displays full HD (1920Ă—1080) images from surgical endoscopic or laparoscopic camera systems and other compatible medical imaging systems. According to Sony, it features the brightest panel in use on a surgical monitor, with a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 (maximum brightness of 800 cd/m2 at D65 adjustment). The front panel is water-resistant and is designed for easy cleaning; it can be wiped down using commonly available cleaning solutions.
Pricing for both versions of the monitor, which will be available for sale in November, has not yet been announced.
