The Heartland Biomedical Association opens its annual symposium on November 7 with a presentation on human factors and the control of medical error by Larry Fennigkoh, PhD, of the Milwaukee School of engineering. Other topics to be covered in the 2-day event include EKGs and arrhythmias, pulse oximetry, effective maintenance strategies, and customer relations skills. Speakers include clinical nurse educator Anne McPhillips; John Griswold, CBET, of Masimo; Manny Roman of DITEC, and Hani Haider, PhD, of University of Nebraska Medical Center.
In addition to educational sessions, a vendor fair will be held from 2:00 to 4:30 on November 7 including Pacific Medical, Masimo, Dräger Medical, Pronk Technologies, and Summit Imaging, among others.
