Given normal wear and tear with average usage, how many times per year will you have to repair any given probe? What is the average cost of repair?

This is a complex question with a number of variables that include, but are not limited to: Manufacturer, type of probe (lens material), cleaning/disinfection process, and sonographer care. A probe that is properly cared for can last for years without the need for repairs.

As far as average repair cost, again, there are a lot of variables such as type of probe (TEE, endo cavity etc), what kind of repair is being performed (array, lens, cable, strain relief, nosepiece etc), as well as the quality of the repair and follow up quality assurance.
