The Aquilion One Vision Edition  CT scanner from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc, Tustin, Calif, supports whole-body scanning for bariatric patients and those with high heart rates. Equipped with a gantry rotation of 0.275 seconds, the system offers a low dose exam with a large bore, 16-cm coverage, and 0.5-mm slices. The 320-row detector comes with a 7.5-MHU large-capacity x-ray tube unit and generates 640 slices per rotation using the coneXact reconstruction algorithm. Toshiba’s third-generation iterative dose reconstruction software, AIDR 3D, offers simplified dose reduction. Myocardial perfusion capability also enables clinicians to visualize and quantify myocardial ischemia with CT, helping to improve workflow and patient safety.
