Newly released data from the HIMSS Analytics Database covers IT use at nearly 5,400 U.S. hospitals and more than 26,000 ambulatory facilities in 2011. The data will be added to databases available from the Dorenfest Institute, currently covering 1986 to 2010. The data has also been used in preparation of the 2012 Annual Report of the U.S. Hospital IT Market, now available in pdf format on the Dorenfest Institute website. Using trended data from 2009, 2010, and 2011, the report examines technology use at nearly 4,300 U.S. hospitals. Topics examined in the report include capital and operating budgets, as well as the use of key financial and clinical technologies in place at these hospitals.
