The company is rerouting medical supply orders and using real-time data tracking to maintain service for Northern California healthcare providers.
Medline activated its network contingency plan and command center following a fire at its distribution facility in Tracy, California, on June 11, 2026. The facility, which serves as a local distribution hub for Northern California, was impacted by the incident last week, prompting the company to reassess its regional supply chain operations.
The company reassigned medical products previously distributed through the Tracy site to other facilities within its regional network. According to Medline, the vast majority of customer order volume has been addressed through rerouting and redistribution to maintain service levels for healthcare providers.
To support supply continuity, Medline says it increased regional inventory, staffing, and transportation capacity. This effort includes the use of MedTrans drivers, third-party carriers, and truck relay operations to accelerate product movement throughout the impacted region.
“As resiliency operations have scaled, Medline has identified additional opportunities to strengthen medical supplies delivery speed, coordination, and visibility across our network,” says Medline, in a statement on its website.
Customer Visibility and Order Tracking
The company is providing impacted healthcare customers with daily updates regarding order status. Medline is utilizing a real-time dashboard and instruction manual to help ensure transparency and prioritize order fulfillment as efficiently as possible.
Local officials indicated the fire was nearing full containment on June 17, 2026. The fire department has transitioned control of the site to Medline and its environmental response partner, Clean Harbors. Medline is working with local authorities and regulatory agencies to assess potential impacts on the community.
Employee and Community Support
Medline confirmed that all employees and on-site personnel were safely evacuated and accounted for during the initial incident. The company is providing financial assistance, counseling resources, and onsite support to affected staff.
“Our priority right now is supporting our team after the fire that impacted our Tracy, California, Medline distribution facility,” the company says in a statement.
In addition to staff support, Medline is assisting with cleanup efforts in the surrounding area. The company established a process for residents and businesses to receive assistance with debris removal through Clean Harbors. Medline also donated gloves and N95 masks to Fire Station 95 in Tracy for distribution to community members.
