Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, Stamford, Conn, will debut a new x-ray image-processing tool at RSNA 2014 in Chicago. Currently under FDA review, the Virtual Grid intelligently adapts contrast to improve image quality for exams that are taken without a grid, reducing degradation of image quality caused by scatter radiation. The feature can improve mobile imaging where a grid may not be available, and eliminates artifacts due to misalignment.
