Psiber Data Systems Inc introduces the LanExpert 85, a handheld network analyzer that provides assistance for all tiers of LAN installers, technicians, and managers working with either copper or fiber media.
The LanExpert 85 uses selectable SFP modules to test single-mode, multimode, bidirectional, 100Base-FX and 1000baseX fiber links and 10/100/1000baseT copper links either at the network edge in the single ended mode or in the network interior using the inline mode. The analyzer includes an expert mode, which can identify up to 40 problems and recommend corrective actions.
The device has synthesized multiple instruments—including cable length meters and fault locators, among others—and dual media support into a single handheld tool to meet a wide range of both enterprise and service provider installation and maintenance requirements.
