In response to cybersecurity’s continued rise as a topic of concern for many hospitals, the ECRI Institute is presenting a 90-minute educational web conference about the subject.

The conference, titled “Tackling Medical Device Cybersecurity,” will take place on Wednesday, October 23, at 1 pm, ET.

?In a release, ECRI Institute stated that participants will:

  • learn how cybersecurity can impact medical devices
  • understand how the FDA views hospitals’ and medical device suppliers’ respective roles in cybersecurity management
  • see an example of how a hospital successfully implemented cybersecurity risk management and mitigation into its technology management program

Experts from ECRI Institute, the FDA, and Methodist Hospital of Southern California (winner of the 2013 Health Devices Achievement Award), will present. The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session.

Members of ECRI Institute’s Health Devices System, Health Devices Gold, and SELECTPlus programs can attend at no cost, but advance registration is required.

ECRI Institute will offer live updates from the event on Twitter at #EIConf.
