For most people, the end of spring and beginning of summer signifies the start of barbeques, pool days, and sweltering heat (particularly for those of us who live in the Deep South!) But for the healthcare technology management field, the season also marks what’s arguably the year’s biggest event: the annual AAMI conference.

In less than two months, HTM leaders from around the globe will congregate at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in balmy Southern California for the AAMI 2018 Conference & Expo. The event, which will take place from Friday, June 1, through Monday, June 4, will attract more than 2,500 industry professionals—including personnel from nearly 200 exhibiting companies.

To prepare you for the vastness of the conference, the May issue of 24×7 Magazine provides a sneak peek at some of the excitement that will take place at AAMI 2018. (Click here to read some conference highlights and learn about key change-ups that will occur at this year’s event.) And while you’re walking around the expansive exhibit hall, make sure to stop by #440 to peruse the latest issue of 24×7 Magazine and meet members of our team.

I, sadly, won’t be able to attend this year’s event since I’ll be three weeks away from delivering my second child. But I can’t wait to hear about all the biggest news to come out of the conference from my colleagues, as well as you, my dear readers.

In addition to our extensive AAMI coverage, the May issue of 24×7 Magazine also brings you three articles written by industry big-wigs who will present at the annual conference. ZingBox cofounder and chief technology officer Dr. May Wang, who wrote May’s cover story: “Medical Facilities Under Attack” will similarly discuss thwarting cyber-threats in a June 4th educational session titled, “[The] Role of Artificial Intelligence in Securing Connected Medical Devices.”

What’s more, 24×7 Magazine’s resident Networking guru, Arleen Thukral, will present a session titled, “Data-Mining Techniques for CMMS Data,” on June 2. (Click here to read her latest IT-related column.) And, finally, 24×7 Magazine board member and educator Dr. Barbara Christe—who wrote a very thought-provoking Growing a Career column: “Quality Concerns in Education”—will speak about employer-educator partnerships on Sunday, June 3.

Enjoy AAMI 2018!
