A new webinar series offers linac engineers and aspiring service professionals insights into careers, regulations, industry trends, and technical skills.

The Radiotherapy Service Engineers Association (RSEA) will launch a new virtual speaker series in March designed to support education, professional development, and industry awareness for healthcare technology management (HTM) professionals working with—or interested in—radiotherapy equipment.

The series will feature four sessions planned throughout 2026 focused on topics such as technical skills, regulations, industry trends, and career pathways in radiotherapy service engineering. Organizers say the initiative is intended to connect professionals worldwide while increasing awareness of the field within the broader HTM community.

The first session, “Clinical Linear Accelerators and the Radiotherapy Service Engineer,” will introduce attendees to the fundamentals of clinical linear accelerators and the role of radiotherapy service technicians and engineers. The discussion will also highlight RSEA’s mission and how the organization supports professionals and the broader radiotherapy service industry.

The industry is losing technicians faster than they are being added,” says Quinn Bartlett, general manager of Linax Technologies. “We need to make HTM and alike technicians aware of the industry and let them know they can transition easily.”

The webinar will take place March 18 from 2–2:30 p.m. EST and will be hosted by Richard Baker, an engineering manager in the UK, with Jim Beaty, engineering manager at CARTI, serving as presenter. The session will feature an expert panel of speakers with more than 100 years of combined industry experience, including Alan Moretti, vice president of strategic business development for Radiology Oncology Systems, among others.

Participation is free, and a recording will be available to registered attendees following the event.

The webinar is being hosted by Linax Technologies on behalf of RSEA, which will manage attendee data. The series is open to the broader HTM community, including biomedical equipment technicians, imaging engineers, linac engineers, clinical engineers, and department leaders. Organizers are also seeking audience feedback to help shape future session topics.
