Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc will demonstrate ultra helical scanning on its Aquilion ONE and Aquilion Premium systems at Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago.

The scan will highlight 160-detector row helical scanning—still a work in progress—which would be the highest helical scan mode available. This method can scan the entire chest, abdomen, and pelvis in less than five seconds, which is suited for routine body imaging and patients who have difficulty staying still during exams. This scanning mode also produces less motion artifacts.
