A new mapping tool tracks the location and purpose of medical equipment and medicines sent to more than 90 countries by AmeriCares, a humanitarian organization. Based on customized Google maps, the tool allows users to see the location of each shipment and the purpose of the delivery, along with information about emergencies, health programs and other humanitarian assistance around the world. The shipment details explain whether aid was sent in response to an emergency, as part of on-going medical deliveries to partner hospitals or clinics, or as a donation to a medical team volunteering to provide primary care services and surgeries for people in need. Shipment details are updated daily, giving visitors to the site near real-time information about aid deliveries worldwide. View the map on the AmeriCares website.
