The program offers mail-in calibration, scheduled reminders, and shipment tracking to help facilities maintain accurate survey meter performance and meet regulatory requirements.

West Physics, a provider of medical and health physics services, has launched a survey meter calibration service, designed to help hospitals, imaging centers, and industrial facilities ensure accurate radiation measurements, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness with minimal disruption.

Survey meters play a key role in protecting patients and staff, but inconsistent calibration, long turnaround times, and poor documentation are creating compliance gaps and operational setbacks, according to a release from West Physics.

“Our clients have consistently shared concerns about unreliable calibration processes, slow turnaround times, and the risks these pose to their teams and patients,” says Geoffrey West, PhD, president and chief executive officer at West Physics, in a release. “We developed this service to address these pain points directly, providing a dependable, expert-led calibration program that facilities can trust.”

The service offers mail-in calibration to minimize downtime, scheduled reminders to keep calibrations current, and shipment tracking. Each report also includes a chart to convert cpm to dpm. This service is delivered by West Physics’ team of medical and health physicists.

“As regulatory expectations increase, facilities need a reliable partner who not only calibrates meters but also helps maintain a robust safety culture with fast and efficient turnaround times,” says West in a release. “This launch is part of our commitment to supporting clients with comprehensive, high-quality solutions that protect patients, staff, and reputations.”

The survey meter calibration service is currently available as an add-on service for all existing West Physics medical and health physics customers. Wider availability as a stand-alone service will be announced at a later date.
