The partnership aims to provide member hospitals with resources to improve resilience against increasing cyberthreats.
The American Hospital Association (AHA), which represents nearly 5,000 hospitals and health systems nationwide, has named First Health Advisory a Preferred Cybersecurity & Risk Services Provider. The designation is intended to help healthcare organizations address the rising volume of cyberattacks that disrupt care delivery and threaten patient safety.
“First Health Advisory has been selected by the AHA as an excellent solution provider for the Cybersecurity Oversight & Resilience Engagement (CORE) Program. We can confidently recommend First Health as a reliable source of support for our nation’s hospitals and health systems in their efforts to defend against sophisticated cyberthreats and ransomware attacks,” says John Riggi, national advisor for cybersecurity and risk for the AHA, in a release.
Through the partnership, First Health Advisory will offer its CORE Program and Data Privacy Governance services to AHA members. The CORE program is designed to provide strategic oversight of an organization’s cybersecurity landscape by identifying emerging risks, addressing existing vulnerabilities, and ensuring regulatory alignment.
The collaboration comes as ransomware and other sophisticated threats continue to target the healthcare sector, creating a need for specialized support to reduce operational risk.
“In healthcare, we don’t need more people pointing out problems; we need true partners who will solve them and actually reduce risk,” says Carter Groome, CEO of First Health Advisory, in a release. “First Health is built for action. From strategy to execution, we align with hospitals’ business objectives as an extension of their teams. Through this partnership with the AHA, we will help hospitals stay resilient so clinicians can focus on what matters most: delivering safe patient care.”
Kerri Gallagher, president and COO of First Health Advisory, adds in a release, “We are honored to be recognized by the AHA as a Preferred Cybersecurity & Risk Services Provider. This partnership affirms our mission to work side by side with hospitals and health systems, enabling resilience and ensuring safe patient care in the face of ever-evolving cyberthreats.”
