The Vivid T8, GE Healthcare’s latest ultrasound offering, combines the cardiac imaging technology of GE Vivid systems with shared services capabilities of the company’s LOGIQ systems.
According to the company, the new ultrasound system is designed to be “rugged, reliable, robust, and rich with features.” The 129-pound mobile system offers cardiac imaging, stress echo, and transesophageal echo capabilities. The system hardware is intended for use in a variety of traditional as well as harsh environments.
Key clinical applications for cardiac include tissue velocity imaging, which captures dynamic information from moving heart tissue to quantify left ventricular function; AutoEF to automatically assesses left ventricular ejection fraction using an automated, speckle-tracking ROI tool; and Auto IMT, to provide automatic edge detection for intima-media thickness and auto-completes required measurements.
Included in the shared services are LOGIQ View, which increases the field of view to image large organs; and blood flow imaging, to help enhance visualization of blood flow dynamics using a unique signal-processing algorithm.
