The Arizona Heart Foundation has installed eight Toshiba Aplio 500 ultrasound systems and one Viamo ultrasound unit in its School of Cardiac & Vascular Ultrasound. The school will use Toshiba’s ultrasound systems for its 18-month cardiovascular ultrasound program. The potential for research remains a priority for the foundation as well as the school.

The Aplio 500 features Fly Thru, a technology that gives a new perspective to 4D ultrasound by allowing clinicians to “fly through” interiors of ducts and vessels for better exploration of lesions and masses. The Viamo is a laptop-sized ultrasound system that can be used in settings from the patient’s bedside to an operating room.
