Siemens Healthcare announced on April 2 that the FDA has cleared the Cios Alpha, the company’s new mobile C-arm system with flat-panel detector. According to Siemens, the new system has a power output of 25 kW and has a field of view “up to 25% larger than conventional C-arms.”

The system can be operated from any of three identical touch screens on the C-arm, the mobile workstation, and the tableside control. In combination with along with its 25 kW power output, the company says, the system’s 30 x 30 cm detector provides high-resolution, high-contrast images and can cover the finest structures.
