Shimadzu Medical Systems USA and Konica Minolta Medical Imaging have joined forces to create a retrofit solution combining the Shimadzu MobileArt Evolution and the Konica Minolta AeroDR x-ray systems. The latest addition to Shimadzu’s line of wireless mobile digital radiography systems, the retrofit system has a 14-inch-by-17-inch Konica Minolta AeroDR flat panel detector (FPD) and is available in HQ and standard resolution sizes. A smaller 10-inch-by-12-inch HQ FPD for pediatric NICU or dual FPD solutions is also available, report the two companies.
A built-in roaming feature allows any of the system’s panels to be shared between the portable system and any other general radiographic room equipped with a Konica Minolta CS-7 acquisition console. According to Shimadzu Medical and Konica Minolta, the system’s console top was designed so any panel can be held securely while leaving the operator’s hands free to cover the panel without worry of dropping it. Additional room was added to the unit for storage of sterile panel bags and disposable gloves.
“Konica Minolta is pleased to continue working with Shimadzu to enhance the portable DR imaging solutions we are providing to hospitals,” said Guillermo Sander, senior product manager of digital radiography at Konica Minolta. “We’re listening to our customers and providing the tools they need to efficiently and safely deliver high-quality imaging across diverse environments.”
