The 19th World Congress of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT), which took place in Seoul, South Korea, from October 20 to 22, was the site of Samsung Electronics’ showcase of GM85, its new mobile digital radiography (DR) system. The new Samsung GM85 delivers increased mobility, an improved user experience, and a level of high image quality that helps meet the demands of both radiographers and radiologists.

With its compact design, which measures 555 millimeters in width and weighs 770 pounds, the system allows easy access around tight spaces such as elevators. Additionally, with its collapsible column, users have clear visibility when moving the system in the health care facility.

The GM85’s S-Align feature displays the detector’s angle to the tube head unit, which translates to precise alignment for enhanced image quality. Further, the system’s S-Vue advanced imaging engine provides improved image sharpness and clarity. With SimGrid, users have access to high-quality images without needing to use a conventional grid.

“We are excited to introduce the new mobile digital x-ray at the ISRRT, being held first-ever here in Korea,” says Dongsoo Jun, president of the health and medical equipment business at Samsung Electronics. “The GM85’s enhanced mobility and streamlined workflow will enable users to experience a new level of efficiency with a mobile DR system without jeopardizing image quality.”

Jun continues: “Leveraging Samsung’s deep expertise in user-friendly functions and advanced imaging technology, Samsung will take the lead in providing a spectrum of diagnostic and patient-centric tools to meet the various needs of both care provider and patient.”
