The Vantage Titan 1.5T MR system from Toshiba America Medical Systems was recently installed at Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital to support the facility’s heart and vascular center. The system is intended to improve patient outcomes by leveraging high-quality imaging and a comprehensive suite of patient-focused technologies.

The system includes a number of patient-focused features, including a 71-cm open bore to reduce patient anxiety related to claustrophobia. The Pianissimo noise-reduction technology is said to improve the MR experience by significantly reducing MR acoustic noise, and advanced noncontrast techniques aim to make imaging safer for patients. The hospital staff report that the patient-friendly features of the system have allowed them to decrease sedation and the need for contrast in certain procedures.

IU Health Goshen is a part of Indiana’s largest integrated delivery network, and has more than 120 years of combined experience in providing comprehensive health services.
