Intermountain Healthcare has selected Iatric Systems Inc‘s Security Audit Manager to help manage patient privacy auditing and incident risk management throughout its network, which comprises 22 hospitals and 185 clinics in Utah and Idaho.
More than 33,000 Intermountain Healthcare employees have access to patient records, according to a press release. Security Audit Manager will augment existing systems that monitor access, giving improved central monitoring capabilities and better data analysis.
By monitoring access to sensitive data in near real time, SAM has the ability to detect and provide alerts on privacy breaches, identity theft, snooping, selling of patient information, or other unauthorized activity that can occur.
